The Las Vegas Writes Project invites everyone to this free event, a conversation with the authors of Back to Where you Once Belonged: Las Vegas Writers Weigh the Power of the Past. In this book, ten Las Vegas essayists examine the weight of the past on the present--and, perhaps, on th future. Set in and around a city with its own peculiar and complicated relationship to the very idea of history, these eclectic narratives examine the topic from a variety of surprising directions. The conversation will be moderated by Scott Dickensheets, deputy editor of Desert Companion, and Geoff Schumacher, senior director of content for The Mob Museum.

This event is presented by the Las Vegas Book Festival. The festival receives support from Nevada Humanities, Nevada's nonprofit state council affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and Nevada Humanities is a festival founder.
