Event: Women's Voices from the Overland Trail
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Mormon Station State Historic Park, Genoa
Description: Women pioneers often formed the backbone and inspiration for the long, arduous western journeys of nineteenth-century emigrants.  Historian Doris Dwyer bases this Humanities on the Road presentation on the diaries, memoirs, and reminiscences of pioneer women and men who emigrated westward from the 1840s through the 1860s.  These accounts, which pay special attention to the landscape, to Native Americans, and to the danger and promise of the journey, provide a vivid account of pioneer life.  For information 775 783 9417.
