| Description: | Nevada Neighbors will host a reception for the artist, Lorraine Gilbert. Ms. Gilbert's artistic practice incorporates her professional knowledge of biology and forestry. Produced by the Capital City Arts Initiative, this program is held in conjunction with CCAI Courthouse Gallery exhibition "Field Studies." Nevada Neighbors, a signature CCAI program, brings artists, curators and scholars to northern Nevada. During a visit, typically three to five days, they meet informally with artists and local arts activists to discuss their work, and give talks and conduct studio visits at local schools and colleges. Public presentations co-hosted by and at the Carson City Library are the major public event during their stay. |
