| Description: | This Chautauqua presentation of John Sparks by Dr. Michael Fischer, who is Director of the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs, is presented by Newcomers Club of Sparks. John Sparks, born in 1843, was the quintessential western man. Before being elected Governor of Nevada in 1902, he trailed cattle from Texas to Wyoming, Utah and Colorado.
