Event: Women's Voices from the Overland Trail

The Nevada State Museum presents historian Doris Dwyer discussing the topic of Women's Voices from the Overland Trail. Women pioneers often formed the backbone and inspiration for the long, arduous western journeys of nineteenth-century emigrants. Dwyer bases her presentation on the diaries, memoirs, and reminiscences of pioneer women and men who emigrated westward from the 1840's through thge 1860's. This event is sponsored by Nevada Humanities through its Humanities on the Road program. Nevada Humanities is Nevada's nonprofit council affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
