ONE Launches Reno Now And Then Special Feature - 11-20-2008
Online Nevada Encyclopedia presents Reno Now and Then Special Feature
The Nevada Oral History Program and the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno have collaborated to create the Reno Now and Then special feature for the ONE.
Students in Professor Howard Goldbaum's Journalism 451 course examined historic images of Reno and then shot corresponding photographs of the exact same locations. These images were then compressed and became morphs that animate how the Reno of the past became the Reno of today.
The photo morphing project accompanies the 2008 publication of the book, Reno Now and Then, by Neal Cobb and Jerry Fenwick. The book was published by the Oral History Program and is for sale on their website (http://oralhistory.unr.edu/) and in bookstores.
