Join the City of Reno and Nevada Humanities on September 22 at 11 am to learn about the E. 4th Street Public Art Project and meet the three finalist artists/artist teams.
The City of Reno received a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Grant in the fall of 2019 to support community engagement and public art creation commemorating the City of Reno’s East 4th Street District.
After a series of initial community engagement sessions and input collection, we have three finalist artists who will be speaking with the community and learning about E. 4th Street. After these community conversations, the artists will submit a proposal for artwork and an artist or artist team will be chosen to move forward with the project. The three finalist artists/teams are DiBari & Associates, Kipp Kobayashi, and Todd Moyer.
Come meet the artists and talk with business owners and residents of E. 4th Street! Megan O’Reilly, co-owner of Pitch Black Printing Company and resident; Chelsea Chicvara, Elk Mountain Holdings, LLC & Javelin Enterprises, LLC; Michael Moberly, Bar Consultant and Spirits Educator; Matt McIver, Laxalt & McIver Design; and Pat Cashell, Volunteers of America; will engage with the three finalist artists/artist teams in a discussion about the current status and future visions of the area. The community is encouraged to join, ask questions, and interact with the artists.
This event is an opportunity for the community to learn about the E. 4th Street Public Art Project and give input on the E. 4th Street area.
