Wonders of Nature: The Spaces Between - The Form of Trees with Anne Hoff
This workshop will focus on the observation and drawing of the general shape of trees. We will explore the use of line and space to create life-like drawings of various trees. Details on texture and bark as well as different drawing materials for sketching and exploring organic plant form. Feel free to work from direct observation of your favorite trees, or reference photos of some trees with interesting shapes.
Suggested Materials
Canson or Strathmore sketch pad
Graphite pencils; HB – 4B, or favorite drawing tool
Sketch n Wash pencil, for playing with value and texture.

About Anne Hoff
Anne Hoff is the professor of Printmaking and Drawing at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. Her work is in several university, museum and corporate collections, and she enjoys showing her work locally and nationally.
