Come explore the world of Norco with us and cinema and media studies scholar Dave Burnham. As we traverse the blended genres of cyberpunk, mystery, science fiction, and Southern Gothic storytelling, we will learn about Dave’s work and research on experimental cinema, film and video, philosophy, and more.

Dave Burnham is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Nevada, Reno. He taught previously at the University of Chicago, where he received his PhD in 2021. His research focuses on experimental and documentary cinema, 20th century philosophy, and theories of realism and modernism. He is writing a book that attempts to work out a theory of realism applicable to contemporary work in experimental film and video and has published related research in Discourse.
