This workshop will see poets explore the depths of their memory to pull out snapshots of their past experiences and bring them to light through poetry. The workshop will begin with a mindfulness activity and pre-writing exercises to help participants find the words they want to use. Poets will then be given time to write quietly as they compose a poem. Poets who wish to share their work may do so in the final part of the workshop. In this workshop, participants will learn helpful brainstorming and pre-writing skills that they can use later to continue practicing the art of poetry. This workshop is open to people of all skill levels. Free and open to the public. Learn more at washoecountylibrary.us.
