Humanities at Play: Free RPG Day with Josh Webster and Adam Ward

Celebrate Free RPG Day with Nevada Humanities! During this online event, we will discuss worldbuilding and character development in tabletop role-playing games with Josh Webster and Adam Ward.

Josh Webster writes fiction and plays, and his work has appeared in long and short form on some stages and some pages. He was a 2022 recipient of a Nevada Arts Council Artist Fellowship in Literary Arts. He received an M.A. in English with an emphasis in creative writing from Wayne State University and a Ph.D. in English with an emphasis in creative writing from The Center for Writers at The University of Southern Mississippi. After serving three years as a lecturer at North Dakota State University in Fargo, he has since worked as an English Professor at Great Basin College in first Elko and then Pahrump, where he teaches composition, creative writing, literature, and film courses. He is a lifelong video-gamer and enthusiast of board games, tabletop RPGs, sci-fi, fantasy, and comic books.

Adam Ward is the Cultural Specialist at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center for Clark County Parks and Recreation. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English and has been writing for seven years, speaking in Southern California and New York in writing conferences about collaborative literature. He worked in the Writing Center of Nevada State College and has a passion for creative writing and running, and has participated in roleplaying games since high school.
