  • Nevada Humanities Program Gallery 1017 South 1st Street, Unit 190 Las Vegas, NV 89101 (map)

Join Nevada Humanities for a reception and curator’s talk about The Hidden Faces of Work: Behind Las Vegas’ Non-Stop Economy with curator Julian Kilker at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in Las Vegas. A curator’s talk will be held at 6 pm PT.

This exhibition features the photography, reflections, media, and creative work of students at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Curated by Julian Kilker, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Emerging Technologies, at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies.

Developed during a class project at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, this exhibition explores the city’s invisible laborers and work, their physical burdens and emotional toll, and their experiences making sense of work and life. The exhibition—by student photographers who are themselves full-time workers and exploring their own career aspirations and evolving forms of visual media—creatively documents workers who contribute to this unique city, and reveal their often-hidden struggles, triumphs, and emotions.
