Join the Henderson Bird Preserve and Nevada Humanities for a day of poetry and art in Henderson. This event is free and open to participants, ages 8 to adult. Registration is required.

11:30 am - 1:00 pm - Paper Bird Workshop with Bobbie Ann Howell

The hands-on art workshop will cover several folded paper bird patterns, cutting, folding, and coloring and detail design options. Nevada is part of the Pacific Flyway that many species of birds use to rest and feed during their annual migration as well as the many native species that call Nevada home.  

Artist Bio:

Bobbie Ann Howell is a visual artist from Nevada who has taught sculpture, foundry, drawing, life drawing, two- and three-dimensional design, and printmaking. Her artworks are in public and private collections and exhibited in regional and national exhibitions, and through public art projects. Her current exhibition is on display at the Charleston Heights Arts Center Gallery until May 11, 2024. Howell received the 2023 and 2018 Nevada Arts Council’s Visual Art Fellowship Award.
