Develop new appreciations of the natural world around you during Earth Month! In partnership with Nevada Outdoor School and the Humanities Center at Great Basin College, join Nevada Humanities and radio maker and audio artist Fil Corbitt on a sensory nature walk at Water Canyon Recreation Area. Participants will learn how to dissect the sounds they hear around them and cultivate sharper senses for the world around us. Creative prompts will be provided during the walk to help cultivate new ways of thinking about and connecting with our immediate landscape.
Paper, clipboards, and writing utensils will be supplied for all participants, in addition to copies of Sagebrush to Sandstone.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time. Bathrooms are located on site. We encourage participants to check weather conditions and the temperature. Wear enclosed shoes and bring layers, sunscreen, and a hat, as well as water and snacks as needed.
This is a free, family-friendly event. Registration is required.
This program is supported with funding by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
