Nevada Humanities is partnering with the Desert Research Institute on a new series of events in Reno and Las Vegas. Curiosity Lab by DRI brings together storytellers from science, the humanities, and the arts to illuminate our shared connection to the state of Nevada.
Join us for an evening of storytelling that explores the impact of extreme heat on the human body and the communities most vulnerable to its effects. Under the Sun will delve into the science of heat, the life-and-death risks it presents, and the stories of resilience from those who bear the greatest burden in a warming world.
Featured storyteller: Patrick Hurbain, Ph.D., postdoctoral researcher, air quality and health at DRI. Patrick, an epidemiologist, will tell the story of the human body under the stress of extreme heat.
