Wonders of Nature: The Butterflies of Nevada with Cynthia Scholl
In this workshop we learn about the diversity of butterflies in Nevada and how to find and identify common species of butterflies. Participants are introduced to a few of the rare species that call Nevada home and how they are studied. This workshop includes discussion of other topics that interest participants, such as how to attract butterflies to your yard.

About Cynthia Scholl
Cynthia Scholl received her Master of Science in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), in 2012 and her Bachelor of Science from UNR in 2008. She is passionate about both Great Basin ecology and about science education. She cofounded Nevada Bugs and Butterflies, a local science education nonprofit, and is the Education Coordinator for the UNR Museum of Natural History. Since her first backpacking trip to Table Mountain in the Monitor Range at age two, she has loved exploring the Great Basin. Over the past few summers she has especially enjoyed roaming the Great Basin looking for rare species of butterflies for a project with the Nevada Division of Natural Heritage. Sharing the diversity of plants and animals in Nevada is one of the greatest joys of her life.
