Lost City Museum: A Hidden Gem on Southern Nevada’s Arrowhead Trail

On display December 1, 2022 – January 24, 2023
Nevada Humanities Program Gallery
1017 South 1st Street, #190, Las Vegas

Take a step back in time to before the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead even existed. It’s the mid-1920s, and the archaeological site of Pueblo Grande de Nevada is now being excavated by Dr. Mark Harrington. By the 1930s, a museum needed to be built to house these artifacts. Lost City Museum: A Hidden Gem on Southern Nevada’s Arrowhead Trail showcases historic photographs of the building of the Lost City Museum and some of the men from the Company 573 Ohio of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

The exhibition will be open to the public for viewing by appointment only Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1 to 4 pm and until 9 pm the first Friday of the month for First Friday events at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery, 1017 South 1st Street, #190 in Las Vegas. In-person viewing will close on January 24, 2023. Contact Bobbie Ann Howell at bahowell@nevadahumanities.org or 702-800-4670 to make a viewing appointment.
