In this beginner level workshop, we will explore the basics of watercolor painting. You will learn how to control a round brush, control the level of water for varying value, mix paints to produce a wide range of colors, and create a piece of abstract art at the end with all of the skills you have learned. We hope you will leave with a sense of calm and confidence to create more artwork!

Free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is required. To register call: 702-507-3863.

Nicole Kim is a watercolor artist and illustrator that is always searching for ways to make creativity easy and accessible. Her abstract paintings explore organic shapes and blending of colors to create a sense of calm. Her sketch journaling simplifies the realistic form to show her love of children, animals, nature, and everyday events and objects. She has illustrated Southern California Vegetable Gardening by Julie Bawden-Davis and Sabrina Wildermuth, taught online sketch journaling workshops through Nevada Humanities, and currently teaches in-person art workshops with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District.

Nevada Reads In Your Library is a program of Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records, is produced by Nevada Humanities, and is made possible with support from Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
