Join Nevada Humanities as we examine the natural beauty of native wildflowers in Nevada! In this workshop, participants will learn how to use brush tip markers to illustrate flowers on postcards or mini-prints. Participants will dive into simple-organic techniques that include various styles of petals and foliage, add depth to their illustrations, and learn how to prep the illustrations for postcards or prints.
Recommended Materials
Cardstock paper or mixed media paper
Scissors, Exacto knife, or utility blade
Ruler, prefer metal ruler
Set of brush tip markers (array of all colors, for example, yellow and dark yellow)

Keep in mind that alcohol markers are different from brush tip markers! Please double-check. Brush tip markers have a similar feel to light, watercolor brushes and the appearance of tall, sharp brush tips.

Lorrie May Manuel is an interdisciplinary creative designer, illustrator, and educator. Working as a one-woman studio, she specializes in UI/UX design, branding, and illustration. Having worked in agency, in-house, and academia, she has designed for international brands such as Dunkin’ Brands, Wendy’s, Denver Broncos, The Honey Baked Ham Company, and others. While at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Department of Art (@unlvtheear), she up-started their marketing, social media presence, and visual designs while teaching graphic Design, UI/UX design, and illustration courses.
