Wonders of Nature: Illustrating Flowers of Nevada Postcards with Lorrie May Manuel

Join Nevada Humanities as we examine the natural beauty of native wildflowers in Nevada! In this workshop, participants will learn how to use brush tip markers to illustrate flowers on postcards or mini-prints. Participants will dive into simple-organic techniques that include various styles of petals and foliage, add depth to their illustrations, and learn how to prep the illustrations for postcards or prints.

Recommended Materials

  1. Cardstock paper or mixed media paper

  2. Scissors, Exacto knife, or utility blade

  3. Ruler, prefer metal ruler

  4. Set of brush tip markers (array of all colors, for example, yellow and dark yellow)

    1. Recommended options:

      1. Tombow dual brush pens

    2. Inexpensive great options:

      1. Mondo Llama: Watercolor brush pens markers from (Target)

      2. Mondo Llama: Dual-tip brush marker set (Target)
