Come celebrate Halloween and Nevada Day with us on Humanities at Play! Joining us from the Nevada Arts Coucnil, historian Kassandra Andicoechea will share insights into her work with the arts council, research on death and mourning culture, Nevada history, and more, as we play through the game “A Mortician’s Tale.”

Kassandra Andicoechea is a historian, artist, and content creator based in Nevada. Currently, she serves as the Public Initiatives Specialist at the Nevada Arts Council, where she shares the captivating stories of artists, cultural bearers, and the council. Kassandra holds a Master of Arts in History from the University of Nevada, Reno (2022) and a Bachelor of Arts in American History from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2018). With a focus on Nevada's fascinating Boom-and-Bust period, particularly the Comstock region, Kassandra's research centers around the death and mourning culture of the time. As a public historian, she is deeply committed to promoting the humanities, ensuring accessibility, and engaging in community outreach.
