Constancio R. Arnaldo Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Asian & Asian American Studies in the Interdisciplinary, Gender, & Ethnic Studies department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As a cultural anthropologist, his research examines Filipinx/a/o American sporting cultures with a focus on boxing spectacles through the figure of boxing superstar Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao and everyday sporting practices like basketball and flag football. A child of immigrant parents from the Philippines, Constancio grew up in the Bay Area and is a first-generation college student. He finds hella joy through gardening, hiking, cooking, and playing basketball.
