We will be painting on location, so whatever you need for your own comfort and safety is good to have on hand. (Sunscreen, snacks, lunch, water, etc).
Consider wearing a long-sleeved, loose shirt. Covering up is the best way to stay cool and keep the sun off your body. Even in the fall, southern Nevada has warm days and intense sunshine. Be prepared to be outside. There is shade and restroom facilities at the workshop location.
The class will begin with an introduction by Sidne Teske and the students. Students will talk about what they hope to achieve in the workshop. Sidne will discuss the process and techniques involved in the project and will work individually with each student wherever they choose to set up. We will work for 2-3 hours, depending on the light. Students should have one piece close to finish by this time. There will be a mid-day break for lunch. Students will bring their own lunch.
Afternoon: Set up in different spots for a painting session. At the end of this session, we will gather for a critique of work done during the day. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE DAY, SO DO NOT PLAN ON LEAVING EARLY.
Leave No Trace: Each participant is responsible for taking care to leave no trace, pack out all supplies and trash you bring in, be respectful of other class participants and park visitors, and know the park rules. We will be working in public areas.
