Following the Box, presented by the Lilley Museum of Art at the University of Nevada, Reno is an exhibition incorporating mixed media, videography, music, photography, and performance art based on artistic responses to 1940s photographs of West Bengal, India. These photographs were taken by a US service member during World War II and resurfaced at an estate sale in Chicago, USA several decades later. The exhibition is an aesthetic and cross-cultural exploration of historic imagery and the role of arts in fostering social memory.
