Margarita Cruz recently received her MFA in Creative Writing from Northern Arizona University. Former editor-in-chief of Thin Air Magazine, she is currently a columnist for Flagstaff Live! and an assistant editor for Tolsun Books. She is an occasional rotating host of Flagstaff, Arizona's SunnySide Radio's Words and Notes, Vice President of the Northern Arizona Book Festival and current intern for the Flagstaff Foundry, an artist incubator and variety show. Her works have been featured in PANK, Chapter House Journal, and the Susquehanna Review. Margarita often writes about borders, both physical and abstract. She is working on a novel of which the manuscript received an honorable mention for the Emerging Writer Fellowship out of the Miami Book Fair in 2020. Ms. AyeVee introduces featured poet Elle Hope.

Elle Hope is a 22 year old poet based here in Las Vegas, NV. Her love for poetry began her sophomore year in High School, but didn’t become a true passion until her senior year. During her senior year one of her closest friends invited her to a SLAM Poetry night and after three rounds, she won second place. Since then Elle has been writing poetry on various topics including, Love, Self-Reflection, Pain, and Empowerment. Elle has been seen performing and featured around the Las Vegas area at various venues including, The Jam (@thejamlv), Saturday Snaps (@snapsopenmic), The Bunkhouse Saloon (@bunkhouse_saloon), House of Blues B-side (@hoblasvegas), The Space (@thespacelv), and The Truth Spot (@thetruthspotlv). She can also be found performing out of state in the Los Angeles area at the biggest open mic on the west coast, Da Poetry Lounge (@da_poetry_lounge). This year she even performed in the Women’s of the World Poetry Slam in Dallas, TX.
