Join us for a conversation with bioarchaeologist and social scientist Stacy Hackner! We will play Unpacking while discussing object-based learning and Creative Health, a relatively new field exploring how arts and humanities contribute to wellbeing in non-clinical settings.
Stacy Hackner is a bioarchaeologist currently lecturing in Creative Health at University College London. Her work focuses on increasing understanding of the racist, sexist, and colonial history of scientific research, and advocates for more nuance and criticality in teaching these subjects. Her current practice uses object-based learning to invigorate classrooms of all ages, and her research is in community wellbeing and engagement. Her career trajectory makes little sense.
Humanities at Play explores and showcases the significance of the humanities in everyday life through games, media, and popular culture. Join us for dynamic and interactive online and in-person events designed to spark thoughtful conversation and reflection. Learn more at nevadahumanities.org/humanities-at-play.
