Join us for a special live stream with Christina Le of PBS Reno. We will cook different types of mochi while talking about topics including, but not limited to, Asian diaspora and identity, food and family, and the work of PBS Reno. Audience participation is highly encouraged! Come ready to share your stories with us in the chat!
Christina Le is the host of Refugee’s Daughter – PBS Reno’s first podcast that debuted in April of 2023. Refugee’s Daughter features eight episodes during which Christina – a Chinese Vietnamese American – shares memories and dialogue with guests who reflect on their own Chinese heritage and what it means to them. Christina hopes that Refugee’s Daughter will bring people together through understanding and empathy; the goal is that the ensuing conversations around heritage and identity will help create space for others to share their stories.
Christina is Manager of Creative Services at PBS Reno, where she is responsible for designing key assets that promote PBS Reno and its many multi-faceted projects including but not limited to the annual PBS Reno Writers Contest and the Spotlight Awards & Auction. She is also co-host and co-producer of FoodNotes*, a food and culture series that debuted in 2023 on the PBS Reno YouTube channel.
